Sustainability has become a key focus within the swimwear market and is a core value central to the work done at Phins. More and more businesses are discovering the benefits of sustainable fabrics and the possibilities of the materials in the market. Recycled fabrics have gone from strength to strength in recent years and now present a huge opportunity for eco-conscious businesses to fulfil their green ambitions.
The opportunities in the swimwear market for utilising recycled fabrics are particularly pervasive. Technology now means materials that were once destined for the landfill, such as single use plastics, can now get a second chance and a new life as swimwear. At Phins, we want to be at the forefront of this movement and ensure we make the most of these opportunities.
That is why all our swimming trunks use recycled materials, with two market leading high quality fabrics used in our current range of trunks. Our classic collection is made using Repreve, which is a performance polyester fiber made from recycled post-consumer waste, like plastic bottles. Our latest range - our active collection - also uses a revolutionary recycled fibre in Econyl. This material uses synthetic waste such as industrial plastic, waste fabric, and fishing nets from oceans, then recycles and regenerates them into a new nylon yarn that is exactly the same quality as virgin nylon.
Every decision we make in designing our trunks starts with making sure our footprint on the planet is as small as possible. So you cant rest assured whatever pair of Phins you choose, eco-friendliness will be a given.
